SATT Course Needs

General Information

Dependant on course type, courses either begin at 19:30 on the Fri evening or 09:00 on Sat morning and involve classroom work on all courses.  Course Timetable will form part of the joining instructions.

The practical training phase of the course normally begins on Saturday and in the evening there is time to do any homework that may be required.

The Sunday is normally taken up with the written exams and the practical assessment phase of the course.

Courses normally end around 17:00 on the Sunday.

Other Useful Course Data

Courses run with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 16 students.  Students are accommodated in their respective messes (Instructor Cadets in the transit accommodation).

Dress appropriate to the mess to be worn in the evenings.

Course attendees will need to bring with them the following equipment:

  • Notebook & Pen
  • Telescope or Binoculars (Essential for Coaching Course)
  • Range Aide Memoir (except for Basic Coaching and Basic RCO Courses)
  • Combat or suitable outdoor clothing (For Saturday Afternoon and Sunday)
  • Waterproofs
  • Flask
