Di Gilbert heads for Elbrus in Russia.

Di has never really been a 'bagger' of tops and summits, however along the way of enjoying time in the mountains, she has already completed the majority of the famous 'Seven Summits'.  After summitting Aconcagua in January 2010 she made the conscious decision to leave her last for the summer of 2010 with people who have made her the way she is today.

Africa: Mount Kilimanjaro 5895m 1999
Expedition Leader

Antartica: Mount Vinson 4892m 2003 Guide

Asia:  Mount Everest 8848m 2005 Expedition Leader

North America:  Denali 20,320' 2009 Playing with Friends

The desputed one:  Carstensz Pyramid 4884m 2009 Expedition Leader

South America:  Aconcagua 2010 Expedition Leader

So yesterday she headed off to Moscow with her partner Derek Boggan to climb the last of her Big 7.   She is due back in 2 weeks time and then she will be the first Aberdeen person to climb the 7 summits and only the 5th British female.  This is a major achievement.

I hope to get regular updates as she is a Civilian Instructor in the Air Training Corps.
We are following her website and get updates on progress via phone and email.  If you were able to follow and give progress reports as well it will be a bonus to family and friends around the area and country.
